Dorset heathland

Canon 5D MkII - 17mm TS-E f4 lens - f11 @ 1/6 sec. - ISO100 - Lee Polarising filter - Gitzo G1548 tripod with G2270M head

The rich tapestry of a Dorset heathland is as magical an ecosystem that exists anywhere in the British Isles and is the archetypical habitat to some of Britain's rarest and most elusive flora and fauna. Smooth snake, sand lizard, nightjar, dartford warbler and the silver-studded blue butterfly occur in good numbers but only if you know where to look.
